Visiting Specialists

Podiatry

Foot health and podiatry care is provided by a licensed podiatrist who visits the La Ronge Health Centre monthly for 3 days. He is assisted by a nurse who provides care and follow-up between visits.

Psychiatry

A psychiatrist comes to the La Ronge Health Centre one day a month to see clients who are referred by a doctor or the staff in Mental Health Services.

Speech Language Pathology

A speech language pathologist visits La Ronge and Pinehouse five days each month from March through December (no visits in January and February) to work with families and children experiencing difficulties with swallowing, fluency, and other speech problems.

Saskatchewan Hearing Aid Plan (SHAP)

An audiologist from SHAP attends the La Ronge Health Centre approximately every three months and provides hearing assessments and treatment options for children and adults by doctor referral (FNIHB regulations) or self-referral.
